Director of Marine Operations Announced

HONOLULU - Hawaii Superferry today announced that John M. Keever has been appointed Director of Marine Operations.
 
Keever most recently served as Vice President of Marine Programs and Student Development for the California Maritime Academy, which is part of The California State University. He is a tenured professor of maritime management, and has taught atmospheric science, meteorology, seamanship, and navigation. Keever previously served as the Academy's Vice President of Administration and Finance, where he played a critical role in the integration of The California Maritime Academy into the University system.
 
"John Keever is a seasoned maritime expert, and highly respected among those in our profession," said Hawaii Superferry President and CEO Tom Fargo. "We are very pleased to have someone with his depth of experience and knowledge overseeing an important aspect of our operation."
 
Keever holds a master's of Public Administration from Golden Gate University and a bachelor's of science in Marine Transportation from California Maritime Academy. Prior to teaching, he served with Sealand Services, States Steamship and the Army Corps of Engineers. He is currently a member of the Council of American Master Mariners, the Propeller Club of the USA, the Ship Operators Cooperative Program, and the Association of Maritime Education and Training Institutions in Asia Pacific. He holds the rank of Commander in the United States Naval Reserve.
 
Hawaii Superferry is offering $49 passenger and $65 passenger vehicle one-way summer promotional fares which are good for travel through September 30, 2008. These fares do not include applicable taxes and fees. However, all fuel surcharges will be waived during the promotional periods. Peak pricing is applicable on certain days during the promotional periods. Seniors (62+), children (2-12), and retired military promotional fares are available for as low as $39 during this period.

Hawaii Superferry currently has one roundtrip morning voyage daily between Oahu and Maui and a roundtrip afternoon voyage between Oahu and Maui four days a week operating on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Visit http://www.HawaiiSuperferry.com for arrival and departure times.
