Neil Takekawa Joins Hawaii Superferry as VP of Sales and Marketing

HONOLULU – Hawaii Superferry announced today that Neil Takekawa has been named Vice President of Sales & Marketing responsible for sales and marketing, business development, community relations and customer experience operations. Takekawa most recently served as President of Roberts Hawaii, a full-service transportation, sightseeing tours and attractions company.

“Neil’s extensive experience in market development and building premier customer service organizations in the transportation industry here in the islands will be the perfect addition to Hawaii Superferry’s senior leadership team,” said President & CEO Tom Fargo.

Takekawa’s strategic planning and professional experience has also included serving as President & CEO of Segue Strategies and Hawaii Island Air. He was President of Aloha Island Air (now Island Air) from 1995-2004, and VP of Customer Services for Aloha Airlines from 1992-1995.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii with advance studies at University of Southern California and Stanford University. He serves on the boards of Central and Metro YMCA, the Japan America Society of Hawaii and the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, and is a member of the Hawaii Asia Pacific Association and Skål International.

Hawaii Superferry's ship, the Alakai, seats up to 800 passengers and carries approximately 200 vehicles. The company operates a daily roundtrip morning voyage between O‘ahu and Maui and a roundtrip afternoon voyage between O‘ahu and Maui four days a week.
